Biography

Ms. Rodems teaches behavioral science topics to dental students, including communication skills and psychological aspects of dentistry. She collaborates with faculty and staff to promote student learning and patient-centered care in the dental school clinics, coaching students on effective communication with patients and helping to address psychosocially complex cases. Additional responsibilities include mentoring dental students and professional development of faculty members on behavioral sciences topics. Her research has been published in Families in Society and The Journal of Sociology and Social Welfare. Her professional areas of interest include health disparities, health policy, and health care reform. Ms. Rodems received an A.B. from Vassar College and an MSW from the University of Michigan. She joined the University in 2015.
