Biography

Prof. Zeitz teaches infant oral health, dental home, anticipatory guidance, radiology and techniques with pediatric patients, and prevention to dental and dental hygiene students. She is also involved in clinical teaching in the pediatric dentistry clinic with all students. Additional responsibilities also include a weekly rotation with dental students at local Early Head Start Centers teaching students how to perform knee-to-knee exams on children ages 6 months – 3 years of age and is the Director of Quality Assurance and Process Improvement for the dental school. Prof. Zeitz has authored the chapter, The Pediatric Patient, in the world-renown Dr. Esther Wilkin’s dental hygiene textbook, Clinical Practice of the Dental Hygienist, 12th edition and soon to be released 13th edition. She is a Registered Dental Assistant, received a Certificate and B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Detroit Mercy. She joined the University in 2006.
